As the year draws to a close I thought it would be good to look at a few of the amazing Southern Hemisphere talent there is in the shawl designing world ... teamed with Green Tea Yarns of course!
1. Cath Ward - her love of lace fits perfectly with Green Tea Yarn's natural pure silk fibres or silk blends. Recently released is a real treasure of a shawl called Rose Meadow. She's used one of my New Dawn dto colours too - Rose Wine on Ginseng fingering (coming very soon to the shop).
Cath's new pattern can be picked up here:
2. Jess Gore from The Sweater Collective
Her fresh young designs are bright and pretty ranging from sweaters and ponchos to shawls and cowls. It's quite hard to choose! She and I have plans later on for a collaboration which we're working on ... very exciting! In the mean time I think her pretty little Daintree Shawl would make a nice end of year knit. I would recommend Darjeeling as a suitable yarn to knit this in - it comes in a wide range of colours suitable for this piece, but I think the new and limited edition Golden Hind colour would make a stunning Daintree :-)
3. Mary Ann Mace - The Lace Eater
If you like lace (and I do) then Mary Ann's designs are a must knit. I have a beautiful Sentinel that was knitted for me (in a swap) and have been lusting after Mad Blood which I will be knitting in a White Cloud gradient during the KAL we are having in the Green Tea Yarns group on Ravelry during November.
Come and join us - there's still plenty of time!
