My Oysters on the Bay colourway was inspired by a wander along the Mornington Pier plank boardwalk and a kiss of the warmth of the last of the summer sun. It's a very sophisticated but a classic colourway.
One skein is enough for a modest shawl - Cath Ward has used it in this colour for her beautiful Smoked Oysters shawl to be found on Ravelry.
Oysters on the Bay - 2 Ply in silk & alpaca
2 ply lace weight. 100 gms gives you 700 cool and breezy metres.
Echinacea: 70% Silk and 30% Alpaca
A semi glossy and luxurious Royal alpaca and silk lace yarn, spun in Switzerland.
When knitted this yarn has really great stitch definition, good strength (due to the silk) and has a lovely handle and drape. The silk provides enough strength to hold beads, whilst the alpaca gives it a sleek softness.
It is recommended that you hand wash in cool to luke warm water with a special silk detergent. Slight bleeding may occur but should not effect the final color.
