Helena Gum Moth #1
A rich, nutty orange that hums with warmth, Helena Moth #1 is flecked with subtle undertones of pecan and toasted brown. Reminiscent of late autumn leaves and sunlit bark, this shade carries a quiet earthiness, grounded yet glowing. Complex and layered, it's a colour that brings depth to any project—bold without shouting, and full of natural charm.
Helena Moth #1 is part of the Helena gum moth series that was the early yarn club for 2025, and pairs beautifully with the other colours in the set. Together, they create a striking, harmonious colourway inspired by the Australian moth’s wings—burnished oranges, soft yellows and rich browns, flowing into one another like nature’s own palette. Ideal for fade sets, stripes, or colourwork that calls for rich contrast and organic cohesion.
Fibre Information
4 ply, sock or fingering yarn. 100 gms gives you 400 metres
Darjeeling yarn: 80% Merino, 20% Nylon
Beautifully soft and just the right amount of nylon for a pair of socks. This also makes a gorgeous shawl or other wearable object.
It is recommended that you hand wash in cool to lukewarm water with a wool wash to prevent dissociating. Slight bleeding may occur but should not affect the final colour. The merino is superwash but the dyes not. (However, I'm not hand washing my socks so there!)
