Banksia is a quietly confident, woodsy green drawn from the stillness of the Australian bush. Inspired by the leaves of the Banksia tree, this colour leans earthy and grounded rather than bright, offering depth without drama. It carries the muted complexity of foliage in shifting light — settled, natural, and effortlessly wearable.
There is a softness to Banksia that makes it easy to live with. It pairs beautifully with warm neutrals, gentle pinks, smoky blues and deeper forest tones, creating combinations that feel considered rather than showy. As a standalone shade, it holds its own with understated strength.
This is green in its more thoughtful form — organic, balanced, and quietly enduring.
Pekoe 4 Ply – 100% Mulberry Silk Yarn
Pekoe is a beautifully smooth 4 ply/fingering-weight yarn spun from 100% mulberry silk. With 400 metres per 100g skein, it has the familiar yardage of a traditional 4 ply yarn while offering the lustre, drape and distinctive character of pure silk.
As a spun silk yarn, Pekoe has a soft, gently textured handle rather than the very sleek finish of a filament silk. The spun fibres give the yarn a little more body and grip while retaining the natural sheen and fluid drape associated with mulberry silk. Colours appear rich and luminous across the surface of the yarn, with subtle variations adding depth to the finished fabric.
Pekoe is well suited to shawls, wraps, lightweight garments and accessories where drape and colour are important. It can be worked on its own for a soft, flowing fabric or combined with another yarn to introduce silkiness, lustre and depth.
As a pure spun silk yarn, Pekoe is not recommended for socks or other items subject to high abrasion or heavy wear. It is best suited to projects where its softness, lustre and flowing drape can be enjoyed without excessive friction.
Silk behaves differently from wool and has less natural elasticity, so a swatch is recommended when using Pekoe for fitted garments. The finished fabric has a graceful drape and a smooth feel against the skin.
