Banksia is a deep, rich olive green named after the striking Australian native trees. Inspired by the dry bush tones of the Banksia’s foliage and seed pods, this colour captures the essence of the landscape in a grounded and elegant way. In this particular dye lot, the tonal variations are especially pronounced — ranging from dark, shadowy greens to softer, golden-olive highlights. These natural shifts in tone bring character and charm to your hand-dyed and hand-knitted projects, adding subtle movement and visual interest. Whether worked into garments or accessories, Banksia offers a sophisticated and earthy palette with plenty of personality.
Richer and deeper than these photos show... on all the colours.
Yarn Information
This yarn has an overall softness with no sheen. It almost looks like an 5ply and so has a lot of loft and therefore a slight halo. Worked carefully this will make a beautiful shawl or garment.
Recently I've been using the 8 ply version to knit a sweater for my husband and have been thrilled to find it really doesn't pill at all! Such a great yarn!
Beautiful yarn at a very reasonable price.
