Rainflower – 2 Ply Mulberry Silk Filament Yarn

Rainflower is a fine lace-weight yarn made from 100% mulberry silk filament, offering a beautiful lustre, a smooth finish and the fluid drape that makes silk such a pleasure to work with. Recommended Needles, Hooks and Gauge

• Knitting needles: Start with 2.0–3.5mm needles, adjusting to suit your pattern and desired fabric.

• Typical gauge: As a starting point, approximately 28–36 stitches per 10cm in stocking stitch. Lace patterns will vary considerably, so work and block a swatch before beginning your project.

Care Instructions

Hand wash gently in cool water using a mild silk wash. Avoid rubbing, twisting or agitating the yarn. Press excess water out gently using a towel and dry flat, away from direct sunlight. Handle the yarn carefully while wet.

Rainflower is hand-dyed in small batches at Green Tea Yarns. Slight variations in colour are a natural characteristic of hand-dyed yarn. For larger projects, alternate skeins every few rows to help achieve a more consistent colour distribution.
