Granny’s Cloak Moth #2 is a soft, earthy warm brown that evokes the texture of worn bark and the hush of dried leaves underfoot. Gentle and grounded, this shade carries subtle tonal variations that give it depth without overwhelming the eye. It’s a versatile and natural hue—quiet, comforting, and full of understated richness.
Part of the Granny’s Cloak Moth series, this colour was designed to pair beautifully with its companions. Use it to soften the bolder speckles of Granny’s Cloak Moth #3, or to deepen the golden tones found in other moth-inspired shades. Whether used on its own or in a multi-skein project, Granny’s Cloak Moth #2 adds a warm, stabilising base to your palette—an anchor point that allows the rest to shine.
Perfect alone or combined with the other colours in this moth series...
Fibre Information
4 ply, sock or fingering yarn. 100 gms gives you 400 metres
Darjeeling yarn: 80% Merino, 20% Nylon
Beautifully soft and just the right amount of nylon for a pair of socks. This also makes a gorgeous shawl or other wearable object.
It is recommended that you hand wash in cool to lukewarm water with a wool wash to prevent dissociating. Slight bleeding may occur but should not affect the final colour. The merino is superwash but the dyes not. (However, I'm not hand washing my socks so there!)
