Granny’s Cloak Moth #3 is an earthy, grounded brown scattered with subtle speckles and unexpected flashes of greenish yellow. This colourway calls to mind dried leaves underfoot, tree bark dappled with lichen, and the camouflaged beauty of the moth it’s named for. The soft, mottled tones of brown create a gentle, natural base, while the streaks of green-yellow offer a sudden flicker of brightness—like wings catching the light in motion. It's a colour that feels rooted in the bush, perfect for projects that echo the quiet complexity of the natural world. Whether used alone or alongside other shades in the Granny’s Cloak Moth series, it brings both texture and a sense of the wild.
Perfect alone or combined with the other colours in this moth series...
Fibre Information
4 ply, sock or fingering yarn. 100 gms gives you 400 metres
Darjeeling yarn: 80% Merino, 20% Nylon
Beautifully soft and just the right amount of nylon for a pair of socks. This also makes a gorgeous shawl or other wearable object.
It is recommended that you hand wash in cool to lukewarm water with a wool wash to prevent dissociating. Slight bleeding may occur but should not affect the final colour. The merino is superwash but the dyes not. (However, I'm not hand washing my socks so there!)
