New Red is a deep, earthy red with strong brick and russet undertones. It shifts between rich oxblood, warm terracotta and muted crimson, with subtle darker brown-red shading throughout. Rather than a bright, clear red, New Red has a weathered, slightly smoky quality that gives the colour plenty of depth. The tonal variations become particularly noticeable across the yarn, creating gentle movement without being overly dramatic. It’s a wonderfully versatile red for autumnal palettes, pairing beautifully with deep browns, rusts, warm neutrals and muted greens.
Plump and gorgeous - an oversized skein at 200m.
Billy 8 Ply
100% Australian Merino Wool | 238m / 100g | 8 Ply / DK Weight | Non-Superwash
Billy is a beautiful, soft 8 ply merino wool sourced from an Australian farm. It has a lovely natural softness and a smooth, even character that makes it a pleasure to knit or crochet.
As a non-superwash merino, Billy retains the natural qualities of the wool, making it particularly lovely for garments, cardigans, sweaters, hats and accessories where softness and a beautiful handle are important.
The yarn takes colour beautifully, producing rich, softly nuanced shades when hand dyed. Its 238 metres per 100g makes it a versatile DK-weight yarn, suitable for a wide range of patterns.
