Speckled Oats – Laoshan
Speckled Oats is a soft, earthy colourway with a warm oat base and a mix of subtle, scattered speckles. Muted shades of charcoal, taupe and brown are joined by small touches of pink, yellow and rust, creating a natural, gently varied finish.
Dyed on Laoshan, our 50% superwash merino and 50% cotton blend, the colours sit beautifully against the soft neutral background. Speckled Oats is a versatile choice for shawls, lightweight sweaters and cardigans, or as a neutral companion to stronger colours in a larger project.

Laoshan – Merino & Cotton 4 Ply Yarn
Laoshan is a versatile 4 ply yarn combining the softness and elasticity of superwash merino with the fresh, breathable qualities of cotton. With a balanced blend of 50% merino and 50% cotton, it offers a lovely option for projects that benefit from a lighter feel and a smooth, comfortable fabric.
At 400 metres per 100g skein, Laoshan is well suited to shawls, lightweight sweaters, cardigans, tops and other garments for year-round wear. The cotton adds a crisp handle and helps create a fabric with less elasticity than a pure merino yarn, while the merino contributes softness and some natural stretch.
As a hand-dyed yarn, Laoshan takes colour in its own way, with the cotton and merino fibres absorbing dye differently. This can create subtle variations and added depth in the finished colourway.

Care Instructions
Hand wash gently in cool water with a suitable wool wash. Do not wring or agitate. Gently squeeze out excess water and dry flat, reshaping while damp. Although the merino component is superwash, the cotton blend may affect the finished fabric's shape and drape, so careful washing is recommended.
Please Note
Gauge and needle or hook recommendations are a guide only. Always work a tension swatch before starting your project, as the cotton and merino blend will behave differently from a pure wool yarn. As with all hand-dyed yarns, slight variations between skeins are part of the character of the dyeing process.
