Spice Trade is a rich, earthy colourway inspired by the warm, muted tones of an old spice market. Deep tobacco and weathered brown are threaded through shades of olive, taupe and antique gold, with flashes of lighter caramel catching between the darker tones. The result is a beautifully variegated colour with plenty of depth and movement, reminiscent of dried spices, aged wood and well-worn leather. Understated but full of character, Spice Trade has a slightly vintage feel and works particularly well with textured stitches, simple garments and accessories where the subtle shifts in colour can shine.
One of a kind - once gone they are gone... skeins have been rewound from the original dyeing.
Ginseng 4 Ply / Fingering
Ginseng is a beautiful 100% mulberry silk yarn with a smooth, lustrous finish and wonderful drape. At 400 metres per 100g, it is a versatile 4 ply / fingering-weight yarn that works particularly well for shawls, lightweight garments, scarves and other projects where the natural sheen and fluidity of silk can really shine.
The smooth surface makes Ginseng especially lovely for textured stitches, lace and colourwork, while its drape gives finished pieces a fluid quality that softens beautifully with wear. It is also an excellent choice for luxurious shawls and accessories where you want colour to remain the focus while the silk adds subtle depth and lustre.
