The Golden Green Gryphon – Mid Year Kit 2026

A palette drawn from flight and forest, The Golden Green Gryphon brings together burnished gold, olive green, and warm pecan in a colour story that feels both powerful and grounded. Light catches across the shades—shifting from luminous ochre to deep moss and bronze—creating a sense of movement through every stitch.

There is depth here without heaviness. The colours flow from one to the next with quiet confidence, offering contrast that feels natural and layered rather than sharp. Worked together, they create a fabric that reads as rich, tonal, and full of life—like sunlight filtering through wings in motion.

This kit is designed for makers who love colour that does the work for you—balanced, thoughtful, and endlessly wearable. Perfect for shawls, garments, and pieces where colour and texture can unfold slowly across the fabric.

Darjeeling 4 ply sock yarn - 12 x 80m sw merino/nylon sock yarn (20 gms skeins)

Darjeeling DK - 8 ply sock yarn - 12 x 112m sw merino/nylon sock yarn (50 gm skeins)

Jasmine 4 ply - 12 x 80m non sw merino/silk yarn (20 gm skeins)

Jasmin 8 ply - 12 x 106m sw merino/silk yarn (50 gm skeins)

Shui Yun 2 ply - 12 x 168m silk/mohair yarn (20gm skeins)

The Yarn options:

Each kit comprises of 12 mini skeins in your choice of yarn.

You will have the choice of 1 (or more) optional semi solid skeins to complement the main colour of the kit.

The additional skeins do not come with the kit and are purchased separately and are designed to compliment the kit to extend your options. 

Darjeeling 4 ply sock yarn

Weight & Length

4 ply sock or fingering yarn. 100 gms gives you 400 metres - mini skeins are 20+ gms (hand wound from the larger skeins).

Darjeeling sock yarn: 80% Australian Merino & 20% nylon

A soft smooth sock base that dyes up like a dream into anything I can dream up! A soft but firm sock base with good stitch definition.

It is recommended that you hand wash in cool to luke warm water with a wool wash to prevent dissociating. Slight bleeding may occur but should not effect the final colour. The merino is superwash but the dyes can dissociate in hot water (hence the need to wash in cool water).

Darjeeling DK - 8 ply  sock yarn 

8 ply sock or fingering yarn. 100 gms gives you 225 metres -small skeins are 50 gms each (hand wound and divided from the larger skeins).

Darjeeling sock yarn: 80% Australian Merino & 20% nylon

Jasmine DK

Jasmine Dk is the same blend of fibres and is a heavier weigh of this exceptional fibre, with the difference being that this version of it is using a superwash merino fibre.

212 m/100gms - each skein will be 50 gms for 106 metres/50gm skein.

Shui Yun

A soft, airy option with a delicate halo. This base softens the palette, blending the colours into a dreamy haze while still allowing the warmth and depth to shine through. Use alone or combine it with one of the other yarns for the perfect complimentary option.

168 m/20gms - each skein is 168 m which will leave you some spare.

There is only one lot of postage to be paid on each shipment. These will weigh 250 or 600 grams (depending on your choice of yarn) and packaging. I have set the shipment to be before the during the month of July.
