May's Grey is a captivating mid-tone shade of grey that evokes the essence of storm clouds. It derives its name from the month of May, when the weather is often characterized by the dramatic presence of dark, brooding clouds. These have a slight tinge of bronze to them too.
This particular shade of grey possesses a subtle depth and complexity, mirroring the atmospheric quality of storm clouds. It captures the essence of an impending rain shower or a gathering thunderstorm, exuding a sense of anticipation and power.
Weight and Length
500 metres to 50 gms, making it a dreamy laceweight yarn by itself.
Fibre
64% kid Mohair and 36% mulberry silk.
Gorgeous and fluffy - not easy to work with but beautiful for an added touch of luxury.
After seeing how one of my customers masterfully blends her luxury yarns - combining lace weights and luxury silks with Shui Yun I knew I should offer it in my line up.
It is highly recommended that you hand wash in cool to lukewarm water with a special silk detergent. Slight bleeding may occur but should not effect the final colour.
This mohair and silk yarn remains beautifully fluffy, with its signature halo intact, but the handle is now a little less buttery-soft than earlier batches. The result is a slightly drier, more composed feel that still knits up light, airy and elegant.
