Collection: 4-Ply (Fingering) Yarn across a range of yarns.
4-ply (fingering) yarn, as its name suggests, was traditionally created by four strands of the yarn being spun together. Nowadays, the term 4-ply generally refers to yarns that are around 400m to 100g. 4-ply yarns are highly popular because they can be used to produce a wide variety of knitted garments like baby clothes, socks and sweaters. 4-ply yarn is ideal to show off the detail in patterns that include cabled features or colour work. At Green Tea Yarns we offer 4-ply options across a range of our sock yarn, merino/silk blends, silks and other bases.

What can I make with 4-ply (fingering) yarn?

Although most beginners start with a heavier weight yarn, 4-ply might be suitable too in a yarn base where the thread is not too thin or slippery.Â
