Calm Seas

Calm Seas is a soft, mid-toned ocean blue with a slightly muted quality. It sits between a clear denim blue and a deeper coastal blue, with subtle grey undertones that give the colour a relaxed, washed appearance. There is enough depth to keep it from feeling pale, while the gentle variation in the dye creates movement through the skein.

The colour has a peaceful, coastal feel — reminiscent of the sea on a still day when the water takes on a soft blue-grey tone. Small flashes of green sequins add a fresh, unexpected touch, while the tiny silver sequins catch the light against the blue. The overall effect is cool, calm and understated, with just enough sparkle to bring the colour to life.

Yuja – DK Weight

Yuja is a fun and festive DK weight yarn created for projects that deserve a little extra sparkle. It combines 85% superwash merino, 10% beads and 5% sequins, giving the yarn a soft merino foundation with beads and sequins scattered throughout to catch the light as you knit.

With 202 metres per 100 grams, Yuja is a versatile DK weight yarn that works beautifully for special occasion garments, festive accessories, cowls, scarves, hats and other statement pieces. The beads and sequins add texture and sparkle to the finished fabric, making Yuja particularly well suited to holiday knitting and projects where you want something a little different.

Care

Hand wash gently in cool water using a wool-friendly detergent. Do not agitate or rub. Gently squeeze out excess water and dry flat. Take care when washing and handling the yarn to protect the beads and sequins.

Hand-Dyed Yarn

Yuja is hand dyed in small batches at Green Tea Yarns in Mount Eliza, Victoria. Each skein is individually dyed, so subtle variations in colour and depth are part of the character of hand-dyed yarn. For larger projects, we recommend alternating skeins every few rows to help blend any differences between skeins.
