Ming Tile is a rich honey yellow inspired by the traditional glazed roof tiles of Beijing’s ancient architecture. This striking colour carries a golden warmth with a subtle mustard undertone, evoking the timeless elegance and grandeur of imperial rooftops. It sits somewhere between sunlit amber and earthen gold, giving it both brightness and depth. Ming Tile brings a sense of history and quiet strength, while remaining versatile enough to pair with neutrals, deeper tones, or even soft pastels. It’s a colour that holds its own—warm, bold, and full of quiet character, perfect for creating pieces with presence and grace.
The Yarn
Gyrokuro is a luminous, lightly textured yarn with a fine, elegant drape and a quiet touch of sparkle. Spun from 64% kid mohair and 23% silk, it carries a soft halo that diffuses colour beautifully, while 3% superwash merino adds just enough structure to keep stitches defined. A delicate thread of sequins (10%) catches the light in a gentle, understated way—more glimmer than glitter.
At 300 metres per 50g skein, Gyrokuro sits in the 3 ply/heavy lace range, making it ideal for airy shawls, refined garments, and layering pieces that benefit from both softness and movement. It pairs effortlessly with other yarns—held double, it adds a fine halo and that signature subtle sparkle without overwhelming the base yarn—while still standing beautifully on its own when you want a fabric that feels light, fluid, and quietly striking.
This is a yarn for pieces that shift with the light and reward a closer look.
