Muscat Noir

Muscat Noir is a deep, moody shade of dark plum with rich undertones of blackened burgundy and dusky purple. The colour shifts gently across the skein, moving between velvety plum, wine-dark purple and softer smoky mauve, with subtle tonal variations that give the yarn plenty of depth.

Rather than being a flat, solid colour, Muscat Noir has a beautifully shadowed quality, with darker areas settling alongside softer flashes of purple and berry. The overall effect is dark and sophisticated without becoming quite black — a rich, autumnal colour with a slightly mysterious edge.

This is a one-of-a-kind colourway, dyed as a single batch, so there will be no exact repeat. It would make a beautiful statement on its own, or pair particularly well with soft greys, dusty pinks, deep berries, muted mauves and other dark, botanical shades.

Darjeeling 4 Ply

Darjeeling is a beautifully soft and versatile 4 ply / fingering weight yarn made from 80% superwashed merino and 20% nylon. The merino gives this yarn its lovely softness and comfortable handle, while the nylon adds strength and durability without compromising its feel.

At 400 metres per 100g, Darjeeling is an excellent choice for socks, where the added nylon provides extra resilience for everyday wear. It is equally suited to lightweight sweaters, cardigans, shawls, wraps, scarves and other garments and accessories where softness, drape and durability are important.

The 4 ply construction gives good stitch definition and makes Darjeeling particularly adaptable to lace, textured stitches, cables and colourwork. It takes hand-dyed colour beautifully, allowing both subtle and highly saturated colourways to shine.

Care

Hand wash gently in cool water using a wool wash. Avoid soaking for extended periods, agitation and wringing. Gently squeeze out excess water and dry flat. Although the merino is superwashed, gentle handling will help maintain the appearance and softness of your finished project.

As with all hand-dyed yarns, we recommend alternating skeins when using more than one skein in a project to help blend natural variations between skeins.
