Old Stone Wall is a richly layered combination of muted olive, weathered grey, soft sage and earthy taupe. The colours blend together in a gently mottled effect, reminiscent of aged stonework softened by years of exposure to the elements. Flecks and fine splashes of rusty red, burnt orange and occasional golden tones add depth and contrast, like lichen and traces of iron oxide across an old stone surface. There is a lovely balance between the cooler blue-grey and sage tones and the warmer khaki and earthy shades. A slightly rustic, timeworn palette with plenty of variation and character.
Darjeeling 4 Ply
Darjeeling is a beautifully soft and versatile 4 ply / fingering weight yarn made from 80% superwashed merino and 20% nylon. The merino gives this yarn its lovely softness and comfortable handle, while the nylon adds strength and durability without compromising its feel.
At 400 metres per 100g, Darjeeling is an excellent choice for socks, where the added nylon provides extra resilience for everyday wear. It is equally suited to lightweight sweaters, cardigans, shawls, wraps, scarves and other garments and accessories where softness, drape and durability are important.
The 4 ply construction gives good stitch definition and makes Darjeeling particularly adaptable to lace, textured stitches, cables and colourwork. It takes hand-dyed colour beautifully, allowing both subtle and highly saturated colourways to shine.

Care
Hand wash gently in cool water using a wool wash. Avoid soaking for extended periods, agitation and wringing. Gently squeeze out excess water and dry flat. Although the merino is superwashed, gentle handling will help maintain the appearance and softness of your finished project.
As with all hand-dyed yarns, we recommend alternating skeins when using more than one skein in a project to help blend natural variations between skeins.
