Percy's Purple - merino/possom - 8 ply - Kawa Kawa 8

Percy’s Purple takes on a beautifully moody depth on the possum/merino base. This very dark, blue-leaning purple reads almost inky at first glance, revealing rich indigo undertones as the light shifts. The possum fibre softens the intensity, giving the shade a gentle halo that creates subtle dimension and a velvety finish. Hints of midnight navy emerge between the strands, adding movement and quiet complexity. It feels dramatic yet wearable, perfect for garments and accessories that call for a sophisticated dark. This version of Percy’s Purple has a slightly earthy warmth beneath the cool tone, making it both striking and comforting.

Yarn Information

This yarn has an overall wool based softness with no sheen. It almost looks like an 10 ply and so has a lot of loft and therefore a slight halo. Worked carefully this will make a beautiful shawl or warm garment and could be worked along with one of my other yarns (like Shui Yun) for added strength and fluff but as this has a nice soft halo you probably won't need more!
