Keenum – 100% Mulberry Silk, 4 Ply

Keenum is a beautiful 100% mulberry silk yarn from China, offering a softer feel and more fluid drape than our Ginseng silk base. With its smooth handle and lovely movement, Keenum is particularly well suited to lace shawls, lightweight wraps and projects where the natural drape of silk can really shine.

At 400 metres per 100 grams, this 4 ply yarn provides excellent meterage for intricate lacework, textured stitches and accessories that benefit from the lustre and flowing character of pure silk. It makes a lovely choice for special projects that call for a silk yarn with a soft feel and graceful drape.

Knitting & Crochet Recommendations

• Knitting needles: 2.5–3.5mm, depending on your project and desired fabric

• Crochet hook: 2.5–3.5mm, depending on your pattern and preferred tension

• Typical gauge: Approximately 28–32 stitches per 10cm over stocking stitch, using needles suited to your chosen fabric. Always work a tension swatch before starting.

Care Instructions

Hand wash gently in cool water using a mild wool wash suitable for silk. Do not rub, wring or agitate the yarn. Rinse carefully, support the fabric when lifting it from the water, and gently squeeze out excess moisture in a towel. Dry flat, away from direct sunlight.
