Pekoe 4 Ply – 100% Mulberry Silk Yarn
Pekoe is a beautifully smooth 4 ply/fingering-weight yarn spun from 100% mulberry silk. With 400 metres per 100g skein, it has the familiar yardage of a traditional 4 ply yarn while offering the lustre, drape and distinctive character of pure silk.
As a spun silk yarn, Pekoe has a soft, gently textured handle rather than the very sleek finish of a filament silk. The spun fibres give the yarn a little more body and grip while retaining the natural sheen and fluid drape associated with mulberry silk. Care: Hand wash gently in cool water using a mild wool or silk wash. Do not agitate or wring. Dry flat away from direct sunlight.
Hand dyed in small batches in Mount Eliza, Victoria. As with all hand-dyed yarns, slight variations may occur between skeins. If using more than one skein in a project, alternating skeins is recommended to blend any differences.
