Vintage Button takes on a deeper, richer character on Shui Yun, appearing as an intense blue-teal with subtle tonal variation. The soft mohair halo adds depth, while the silk core catches the light with a gentle sheen. These 20g mini skeins are ideal for colourwork, stripes, borders or adding a luxurious touch to a larger project.

Photos were a problem on this very rich teal/blue colourway - it needs to be seen!

Shui Yun – Mohair & Silk Laceweight Yarn

Shui Yun is a light, airy blend of 65% kid mohair and 35% silk, combining the soft halo of fine mohair with the gentle sheen and strength of a silk core. The yarn creates a beautifully soft fabric with warmth but very little weight, making it ideal for adding texture, depth and a subtle haze of colour to knitted and crocheted projects.

Use Shui Yun on its own for fine, ethereal lacework, or hold it together with another yarn to add softness, halo and colour variation. It pairs particularly well with 4 ply/fingering yarns, adding a soft bloom without significantly changing the weight of the finished fabric. Two strands may also be held together for a fuller, more substantial fabric.

Shui Yun is hand dyed in small batches, creating subtle variations between skeins. For larger projects using more than one skein, alternating skeins will help blend these natural variations.

Fibre: 65% Kid Mohair, 35% Silk
Weight: 2 ply / Laceweight
Length: 420 metres per 50g
Skein sizes:
• 20g – approximately 168 metres
• 50g – approximately 420 metres

Suggested needle size: 3–5 mm
Suggested hook size: 3–5 mm
Approximate gauge when used alone: 22–28 stitches per 10 cm, depending on needle size and the openness of the fabric. A larger needle will create a lighter, more open fabric and allow the mohair halo to bloom. Always swatch before beginning your project.

Suitable for: Lace shawls, lightweight garments, scarves, wraps and accessories, or holding together with another yarn to add softness, halo and depth of colour.

Care: Hand wash gently in cool water using a mild wool wash. Do not agitate, wring or rub. Gently press out excess water and lay flat to dry.
