Vintage Button is a rich, deep teal with layers of blue and green woven through its depths. On the skein, the colour moves between dark, almost inky teal and brighter flashes of peacock blue, giving it wonderful depth and movement.

There is something particularly striking about this colour on Gyrokuro, where the soft halo of mohair catches the light and the tiny sequins add little glimmers amongst the darker tones. Rooibos – Mohair & Silk 5 Ply Yarn

Rooibos is an unusual luxury yarn combining the soft halo of mohair with the lustre and fluid drape of silk. A small amount of nylon adds strength and stability while allowing the beauty of the natural fibres to remain the focus.

With 69% silk, Rooibos has a smooth feel, gentle sheen and beautiful movement. The 22% mohair creates a soft bloom around the yarn without the very light, airy structure usually associated with laceweight mohair yarns. The result is a more substantial yarn with texture, depth and a softly diffused finish.

Running at 350 metres per 100g, Rooibos sits within the 5 ply or sport-weight range, although its generous metreage makes it suitable for projects where a lighter fabric is preferred. It can be worked on its own to create flowing shawls, lightweight garments and accessories, with the silk providing drape and the mohair adding softness and character.

Rooibos may also be held together with another yarn to introduce a subtle halo, additional depth and a touch of silk lustre. As with all yarns containing mohair, the finished fabric will soften and bloom after washing.
